Return of the Jedi
|Collection||Return of the Jedi|
Originally named Leia Organa (Bespin Gown) this figure was renamed to Princess Leia Organa (Bespin Gown) on the Return of the Jedi 48-back card and has stayed as such on every card printed afterwards.
This action figure has three proper variations:
Crew Neck version
This version, the most correct of the three, features a flesh-color painted neck with a gold trim on the collar that separates it from the neck.
Turtle Neck version
This version has no paint on the neck save for a gold collar.
Gold Neck version
This version is based on a chemical reaction that created a green stain (patina), not unlike that found on brass. In truth, this version (the scarcest of the three) is most intriguing because of the painting process used in its creation. Unlike the other two versions, the Gold Neck version was initially painted from the collar up with flesh-colored paint then, in the front only, painted completely again with gold from collar up. The mixture of the two paints reacted in most cases, creating the staining.
